POLICY AGENDA

  • Education

I will fight to ensure that our children have access to a quality education regardless of their socioeconomic status or country of origin. I have worked with leaders in education for years and have three daughters in Montgomery County Public Schools.

  • Affordable Housing

Lack of affordable housing is directly related to District 6, having the highest Covid positive rates in the state. Living close to where you work should not be a privilege. I will work together with the Executive and Council to make affordable housing a priority.

  • Economic Development

Small business is the backbone of our economy. We need to invest in our local entrepreneurs by providing access to capital and improving our partnerships. I will continue my work with the county's Workforce Development to ensure that we provide high-paying jobs to all of our residents.

  • Health

The lack of access to affordable health care in this pandemic has had a catastrophic impact on my community. I've lost friends and neighbors just because they were afraid of a medical bill. We need to fund and expand our support of non-profits that are closer connected to our community and know their exact needs.

  • Public Safety

Residents in our county need to feel like they are protected and safe. It's important to promote diversity and community outreach within our police and fire rescue departments. We need more programs for our youth that will nurture this relationship.

  • Transportation

My community deserves access to quality public transportation, and therefore, I will focus on expanding our transportation system. This will reduce traffic in the region and bring opportunities to the communities that currently do not have access. We need to electrify our county buses to reduce emissions and help the environment.
